Post: This morning I came to work only to be welcomed by an error message from my computer. It threatened that if I continued to use the computer with its defective fan, it would do irreparable harm to the CPU (everyone's dream problem). Immediately I took it in for service expecting to pay top dollar for a replacement fan and labor, and to go on days without it (if this story seems funny, one should know that its writer is mechanically inept). The service technician was so helpful and honest in diagnosing the problem, that instead of taking it in as an emergency, he recommended a $10 can of air. Now, he could have easily taken advantage of my naivete. I would have been willing to pay a considerable sum, but he gave me the solution that fixed my problem the quickest. It's refreshing to see people do the right thing even when the opportunity to make money presents itself. Children should be given examples like this that doing the right thing isn't always easy, but it's the right thing to do. They need to cultivate a sense of morality before they are tested in the real world.
